Kim A-jung gives special lecture on emotional communication at Korea University
On November 20 at Korea University, Actress Kim A-jung gave a special lecture on emotional communication, which is one of the liberal arts subjects at the institute, elaborating on the interrelation between internal world of human beings and the emotions of actors. More than 80 students attended the lecture and held a Q&A session with the actress. Kim A-jung, who is currently a graduate student at the Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Korea University, stated, "It was a little overwhelming as I'm also a student at the university. But I wanted to share what I've learned and experienced as an actress."


Kim A-jung chosen to star in film "26 Years"
Kim A-jung has decided to star in the film "26 Years", which will be produced by Cheongeoram Films, and is currently undergoing detailed talks as of the end of August. Based on the comic series by the same name by Internet cartoonist Kang Pul, "26 Years" is a story about the children of the victims of the Gwangju Democratization Movement of the 80s plots to assassinate an ex-president. Kim A-jung stars as a shooter whose father was a victim of the democratization movement.

"Emotional Communication" (Publisher: Hannarae), which was co-written by actress Kim A-jung and the professors of Korea University's Journalism and Mass Communication Department, was released on May 30. Co-author Kim A-jung has decided to donate all the profits to a treatment center for the disabled.


"Emotional Communication" talks about 'emotions' from six different aspects: fear, anger, disgust, sadness, love, and happiness. It offers integrated knowledge on the cases and examples of each emotion, what kind of responses and expressions occur when we experience each emotion, etc. via various types of sciences such as brain science, physiology, communications, etc.


Kim A-jung has decided to donate all the profits to a treatment center for children who have disabilities with feeling and expressing emotions.

Ilsan Hallyu-wood project commences with plans to invest 280 billion won to develop culture-tourism complex


The project to build Hallyu-wood, the Mecca of Hallyu-based tourism has begun.


On May 29, 2008 on the Hallyu-wood construction site, Gyeonggi-do held the "Hallyu-wood Start Festival", the ground-breaking ceremony for Zone 1, which consists of a theme park and commercial facilities.


Unlike other ceremonies, the event was run like a cultural festival taking into account that Hallyu-wood is a culture-tourism complex. The event consisted of a Hangeul (Korean) fashion show, which showcased more than 20 models, a concert by the Goyang Philharmonic Orchestra, characters shows introducing Korean characters such as Dooly, and performances by singers such as the famous Jewelry.


A wide range of guests participated in the event, including PR ambassadors Jackie Chan and Choi Jiwoo, more than 20 Korean celebrities such as Kim Yun-jin, Kim A-jung, and Big Bang, cultural figures such as director Im Kwon-taek and leading figures in politics and economy. PR ambassadors Jackie Chan and Choi Ji-woo stated they would take the initiative in spreading Hallyu (Korean Wave) worldwide and making Hallyu-wood the Mecca of theme parks for people all over the world.


Participants at the cornerstone-laying ceremony at the "Hallyu-wood Start Festival", held on the Hallyu-wood site in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do on the 29th. Numerous people including PR ambassadors Jackie Chan and Choi Ji-woo and celebrities such as Kim Yun-jin and Kim A-jung, as well as director Im Kwon-taek participated this day.


The Hallyu-wood project is about developing a culture-tourism complex consisting of a theme park, commercial facilities, a residential complex, hotel, contents-support center, EBS Korea Communications Commission broadcasting facilities, etc. on a site covering 994,756m2 in the area of Janghang-dong, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. Zone 1 will hold a theme park and commercial facilities, Zone 2 will hold a luxury residential complex and hotel, and Zone 3 will hold a contents-support center.


The theme park in Zone 1, where the ground-breaking ceremony was held, won't be like existing amusement parks. It will be built as a city-oriented theme park of an entirely new concept. It will consist of facilities such as the 'Hallyu Studio', where drama and film-making experiences are offered, 'Animasia', a fusion of animation and entertainment facilities, 'Asian Garden' where events and festivals will be held year-round, etc.


The commercial facilities will include shops selling Hallyu merchandise, a Korean art school, a Korean cooking school, a Hallyu museum, a children's educational play facilities, a Korea gallery, a live performance arena, a multiplex cinema, and more.
